This is the very first keto meal I have consciously cooked. I’m sure that over the last 30 years as a Chef I have inadvertently cooked many. So why keto ? Put simply, I’m not getting any younger so I’m naturally curious about longevity. Two things have resinated with me during my research 1. The importance of eating unprocessed food and 2. The potential dangers of carrying excess body fat. To my surprise the keto meals I was looking at had all the ingredients I loved. Meat, chicken, fish, low carb veggies and cheese. This got me thinking. Can I lose body fat, eat delicious unprocessed food and improve my health? Let’s see…..
Grilled Keto Salmon

150g Skinless Salmon fillet
150g Broccoli
100g Cauliflower
20g Coconut cream
1 small clove Garlic
Half thumb grated Ginger
15 mls
Directions
- Cut cauliflower into florets boil in water with the garlic until tender. Just before straining drop in the broccoli florets for 30 seconds to blanch. Remove the broccoli once blanched.
- Heat up fry pan with a drop of olive oil. Add ginger and salmon. Sear for 4 minutes
- Drop the broccoli into the pan with the salmon 1 minute before salmon is cooked. Add the tamari
- Place cauliflower in a Nutri Bullet style blender with the coconut cream and garlic. Blend until smooth. Add a drop water if too thick.
- Plate up. Cauliflower puree then the broccoli and salmon on top
